5. Who is Ankita?

"Baithe baithe main yeh sochun

Tu sang bethi ho to

Mil ke batein hongi do do

Umr yoon hi kaatein hum do"

πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›

Two days later, the morning air was filled with playful chaos. "Ayaan me bache, main tujhe nahi chodunga!" Shivansh roared, his phone clutched in his hand as he chased Ayaan across the room.

(Ayaan, I won't spare you today)

Ayaan, quick on his feet, darted and hid immediately behind Namita, seeking refuge from his furious brother. "Bhai, maine kya kiya?" Ayaan pleaded, trying to maintain an innocent facade.

(What did I do?)

"Oh, what in the world happened here?" Namita asked, bewildered by the commotion. Ayaan, seizing the moment, snatched the phone back from Shivansh and quickly handed it to Namita. "Iss mein kya hai?," she asked, holding the black screen of the phone.

(What is there in this?)

"Oh, yeh dekho," Ayaan replied, unlocking the phone and eagerly showing the screen to Namita.

Shivansh stood nearby, suddenly as quiet and still as an innocent child, while Namita and Ayaan leaned in, whispering conspiratorially and giggling at the photo.

(Oh, now see)

Ayaan then turned to Namita with a mischievous glint in his eye. "Ab bolo dadi, agar itni sundar si bhabhi aane wali hai toh toda sa toh bhai ko chidana bantha hai na?". Namita was momentarily stunned by the person's beauty on the screen.

(Now you tell me, Grandma, if such a beautiful sister-in-law is about to join our family, isn't it perfectly right to tease our brother a little bit)

"Who is this girl in the yellow kurta? What's her name?" Namita asked, turning the mobile screen toward a now-sheepish Shivansh.

"That's Ruhi Bhabhi," Ayaan mumbled in response. "Oh, sundar hai," Namita declared with a warm smile, and then walked away, leaving the two brothers to their antics.

Ayaan stood there, grinning triumphantly at Shivansh, who simply shook his head in resignation. Shivansh started to walk toward his room, but paused when he heard a familiar tune being sung.

It was Ayaan, serenading the entire house, "Pehla pehla pyaar hai, pehli pehli baar hai".

(It's first love, it's the first time).

Shivansh turned and gave Ayaan a death glare, but Ayaan merely stood there, smiling brightly like a happy child. Ignoring the threat, Shivansh unlocked his own phone and continued walking to his room, his eyes fixated on the photo of the girl.

Ayaan eventually entered his own room, grabbed his bag, and headed over to Vihaan's room. Vihaan was meticulously adjusting his hair in front of the mirror.

"Well, hello there, brother! You look incredibly handsome today," Ayaan complimented Vihaan with a bright, genuine smile. Vihaan turned, returned the smile, and the two brothers walked downstairs together, deep in conversation.

Upon reaching the living area, Ayaan headed toward the kitchen, while Vihaan moved to sit beside Shivansh, who was absorbed in his phone.

"What's wrong, Shivansh? Is there some kind of problem?" Vihaan asked, sensing his cousin's preoccupation. Before Shivansh could reply, Namita emerged from the Pooja room, carrying a plate of Arti.

(a ceremonial lamp).

"Vihaan, dear," she began with a sly smile, "it seems lately he's been preoccupied with something other than work, isn't that right, Shiv?"

Namita offered the Arti plate to Shivansh and Vihaan. Her words were a shock to Vihaan, and she didn't notice Ashok and Abhay standing quietly behind the couch, listening. "Preoccupied with what?" Vihaan inquired.

Namita gave Shivansh a knowing look and teased, "who knows on someone, or something special, right Shivansh?" Vihaan nodded thoughtfully as a red-faced Shivansh kept his gaze firmly fixed on the floor in embarrassment.

"Good morning, everyone!" Misha announced, entering the Rajkot Mansion holding a plate covered with a bright red cloth.

Shivansh immediately got up, walked over to Misha, and gave her a warm side hug. Misha asked Shivansh to hold out his hands and placed the covered plate into his palms.

Shivansh lifted the cloth, revealing kaju katli .

(cashew fudge).

"Wow, mera favourite! Thank you, Misha Didi!" Ayaan exclaimed, snatching the plate from Shivansh's hand without hesitation.

(Wow myΒ  favourite! Thank you, Misha didi!)

"Ah, tumhare lite nahi hai, yeh mumma ne kisi aur keliye hai," Misha said, looking toward Namita. "For whom, then, dear?" Gautham asked, walking down the stairs.

(This not for you, mumma has sent this for someone else)

"Dadu, yeh aap aur dadi keliye hai," Misha replied. Ayaan's and Shivansh's faces instantly fell in disappointment, and everyone in the room burst into laughter.

(Dadu, it for you and dadi)

"Is everyone ready to leave?" Anika asked, stepping out of the kitchen. Everyone nodded, and they all began to head out, except for Misha, who walked into the kitchen.

"Arey beta, mumma-papa kaha hai?" Anushka asked. "They're both waiting outside for all of you, Aunty," Misha answered with a smile. "Oh, Mumma, you can talk to her in the car; we're getting late, come on!" Saira interjected, gently urging Anushka outside.

A little while later, everyone left the mansion with smiles, except for Namita, Gautham, and Jathin, who stayed behind.

The Journey to Bangalore and a Nostalgic Smile

In one of the cars, Karthik, Vihaan, Rithika, and Misha were seated.

Vihaan was driving, with Karthik in the passenger seat, and the two young women in the back. Suddenly, Rithika started to smile. Seeing her expression, Karthik asked, "What happened, Mishti?"

" hai jab aapne kheer bhana kar wahi study table par chod diya?" Rithika reminded him.

(Remember when you made kheer and left it on the study table itself)

Misha was aghast. "What? You mean all my hard work went completely to waste?!" she exclaimed.

Karthik gave a nervous, awkward smile and quickly began talking on his phone to a random person. Misha sighed and turned her face toward the window. Watching Misha from the rearview mirror, a small, subtle curve appeared on Vihaan's lips.

In about an hour, everyone reached the airport. After checking in, they were standing in front of two planes. All the older family members boarded one plane, and the younger ones the other.

"Why is the elder brother's plane entirely white?" Ayaan mused, walking toward the snacks section. Once everyone was settled in their respective seats, both planes took off.

Misha was engrossed in a book when a flight attendant approached her. "Excuse me, Ma'am, would you like anything?"

Misha shook her head in denial and went back to her reading. Rida, who was sitting beside Misha, asked, "Di, kya paad rahe ho?".

(What are you reading)

"King of Wrath by Ana Huang," Misha replied.

"Guys, come on, let's take a photo!" Saira called out, asking Ayaan to click a picture of the three girls together. The rest of the trip was filled with lively chatting, and lots of laughter at Ayaan's famously lame jokes.

After two and a half hours, the plane landed smoothly at Bangalore airport. "Finally! We've landed!" Ayaan shouted, jumping up and down in sheer happiness.

Everyone disembarked from the plane and moved out of the airport. They got into their respective cars and drove toward Rithika's house.

Upon reaching the house, Ayaan leaped out of the car, a plastic knife clutched dramatically in his hand, and charged inside, screaming at the top of his lungs.

"Aakarshh!!!!!!!!!" Aakarsh was sitting on the couch, calmly watching cartoons on television. Seeing the rage in Ayaan's face, he paused the video and asked innocently, "kya hua kyu chila rahe ho?"

(What happened? Why are you screaming)

Aakarsh spotted the knife in Ayaan's hand and instinctively leaped behind the couch. "Ankita kin hai?" Ayaan demanded, throwing the plastic knife at Aakarsh.

(Who is Ankita)

Luckily, Aakarsh moved aside, and the knife hit the wall, breaking into two pieces. "Ankita? Huh, main bhi peheli bhaar sun raha hun," Aakarsh answered, feigning ignorance.

(Ankita? Huh, I am hearing this name first time)

"Wow! You don't even know your own girlfriend's name. How impressive," Ayaan said, dripping with sarcasm.

"Oi budhu, it's Akshara not Ankita!" Misha scolded, smacking Ayaan gently on the head.

"Alright, alright, everyone go and freshen up now," an old woman, wearing a white kurta, intervened. "Eat your food, and then you can all calmly discuss Ankita and Akshara later."

"Amma, hege idiya, and guess what? I'm pregnant!" Rithika announced, immediately hugging her mother. "I know, my dear, I'm so happy for you!" the woman replied, beaming.

(Amma how are you, and guess what? I'm pregnant!)

"Shwetha, kaise ho? Aur Siddharth bhai kaha hai?" Manisha asked, walking into the house.

(Shwetha, how are you? And where is Siddharth brother?)

"I'm right here!" Sidharth said, emerging from the kitchen, wearing an apron. Raman walked over and stood beside Sidharth, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Wow, my friend, look at you! Helping your wife, that's wonderful!" Raman praised.

"Of course! Now, why don't all of you go get freshened up? Then we'll all enjoy some hot, delicious food," Sidharth said, gesturing toward the stairs. Everyone nodded and moved upstairs, while Ayaan and Aakarsh continued to squabble like children.

"Aunty, what wonderful things have you cooked?" Ayaan asked, sniffing the air appreciatively. "It wasn't Aunty, it was Uncle who cooked," Sidharth corrected him. "Oh, my bad! But I must say, Uncle, the food smells absolutely amazing!" Ayaan complimented sincerely.

"All the senior citizens can sit at the table to eat. We youngsters will eat on the couch," Aakarsh declared, only to receive a smack on the head from Ashok.

"Oii! Who are you calling a senior citizen? We are all still young, aren't we, brothers?" Ashok challenged, with Raman and Sidharth nodding in immediate agreement.

"Oh, I am so sorry, Uncle!" Aakarsh quickly apologized, then scurried over to the couch where Ayaan was waiting. Soon after, everyone sat down and began to eat. The entire house was filled with the joyous sound of laughter and playful bickering.

πŸ¦‹

"Wow, that food was truly delicious!" Abhay said, placing his empty plate in the sink. "Brother, why did you do that? We would have done it," Shwetha offered.

"What's the big deal? We're not guests here," Anika stated simply, and everyone else agreed with her sentiment.

After dinner, all the elders retired to their rooms. The younger generation was sitting on the balcony, laughing and talking amongst themselves.

Vihaan found himself lost for a moment, simply watching Misha's beautiful laugh. "Mishti, would you like something to eat?" Karthik asked, but Rithika just shook her head.

"Okay, forget about food," Rida said, her face alight with excitement. "Aakarsh Bhai, please aap Akshara Bhabhi ke bhaare mein kuch batao na!"

"Alright, so," Aakarsh began, a soft smile spreading across his face, "many years ago, when I first saw Akshara, she was wearing a blue crop top and black pants.

She had on some little pink studs. We used to fight like crazy people, but slowly, over time, we grew closer, and now, here we are, still together." He finished his story with a heartfelt smile.

Vihaan narrowed his brows in recognition. "Oh, woh college wali ladaki?" Aakarsh nodded, and Ayaan immediately burst out with a barrage of questions.

"Aww, your story is so cute!" Saira exclaimed with a bright smile. "So, we're meeting Akshara tomorrow, right?" Rithika asked. "Yes, of course!" Ayaan answered, his eyes shining with happiness. "Well, then, let's all go to sleep," Misha suggested, and everyone moved inside.

"So, all us girls will sleep in this room, and all you men can sleep in the other room," Misha directed.

"But Rithika and Brother," Shivansh interjected, pointing toward another door, "you two will sleep in that room."

"But I want to sleep with all of them!" Rithika pleaded with a pout. "No, Mishti, you are going to sleep here with me only," Karthik said in a serious, non-negotiable tone. Without arguing further, Rithika accepted the instruction, and everyone dispersed to their assigned places for the night.

Personally Ayaan and Aakarsh both are crazy so I genuinely feel bad for their girls. Or there are chances that these to will act mature in front of their girls. 😁
